Winner 12.20 was built in 2011/2012 at the request of the owner of the Winner shipyard. The designer, Van der Stadt, designed a special Winner 12.20. Above the waterline, a nice tuned mast and boom and the fixed carbon bowsprit stood out.
The hull is entirely built in a sandwich construction and is equipped with a top-quality 12mm teak deck and cockpit floor. The interior is beautifully crafted in teak, with all doors consisting of a foam core and teak exterior. The bulkheads are fully laminated, allowing the rigging to be tensioned at high loads without any deformation occurring. There are two double aft cabins and a spacious forward cabin with an extra-long bed (210 cm). The interior is remarkably bright due to features such as two large Moonlight deck hatches and large hard-glass windows in the superstructure. Luxurious ceiling upholstery and "designer" handrails on the ceiling and at the companionway entrance enhance the aesthetics. Light-colored upholstery and white curtains complete the design by De Bont Interior Design.
The current owners purchased the yacht at the end of 2018. A refit was carried out, including a new Z Spars aluminum mast complete with rigging, a new and reinforced L-shape cast iron bulb keel, icm the carbon boom. The existing rod forestay was shortened (with the new Dyform forestay kept as a spare). This refit was supervised by the former director of the Winner shipyard. As a result of these modifications, the sails also needed to be replaced in 2022
A significant portion of the navigation equipment has now been updated, and the yacht has recently been repainted to remove some minor "parking damage" and discoloration of the striping.
The current set of sails includes a Hagoort Contender Pro Vectran (2022) fully battened mainsail on Harken ball-bearing batten cars, a Hagoort Contender Pro Vectran HA jib with battens in the leech (2025), a Hagoort Dacron working jib on a furler, a storm jib, and a storm mainsail that is mounted on a separate track on the mast.
The engine, with just under 500 hours on the clock, was fitted with a new SD60 saildrive in 2021 and a new water lock in 2023. The Flexofold folding propeller was installed in 2019.
The Harken electric halyard winch, combined with extra heavy-duty spinlocks and a 1:2 halyard system, makes hoisting effortless. The mainsail is equipped with Harken ball-bearing batten cars. The backstay is made of Dyneema. Extra heavy-duty genoa tracks with cars are mounted with guiding sheaves. The German sheeting system, featuring Harken 40 and Harken 50 winches, ensures comfortable sail handling.
On the foredeck, there is a 14-kilogram stainless steel anchor with a nylon rode and 50 meters of 8 mm chain. The navigation equipment is very comprehensive, including two Axiom Pro chart plotters from 2022, a Raymarine EVO200 autopilot with two control displays from 2022, an ICOM VHF radio with AIS, and a B&G H300 CPU, completing the setup with additional displays.
Onboard, there is heating by Ebespracher, a refrigerator from Dometic 2022, and a large 20-liter boiler. The gas locker is spacious and suitable for two 4.5-kilogram bottles. There is a 150-liter fuel tank and two 125-liter freshwater tanks.
The Winner is registered with a Dutch sea letter and has a customs declaration confirming VAT payment.
This is a very complete and special yacht that is ready for a new owner. It is highly solid, fast, and reliable.
